Saline Valley 2005
Another trip taking us up and over the East Side of the Sierra Nevada with a goal of reaching the Race Track
This time instead of blondie(who is no longer with of this world) I thought a religious icon may bring us better luck.
So a quick stop in the hispanic food isle at safeway got us our good luck charm, or at least we thought.
Here she is.

We loaded up with fire wood(thank you Sandy)

After about 9 good hours of driving we decide to pull over and camp right off the side of the road at about 3:45 am

and after a little while we noticed this.

but it was no time to deal with that cus we had lots of this

and we wanted to stay warm around the fire

So come the morning or, more shal we say after sleeping 4 hours scott takes a nap

Jason made do with rocks to spread his jam

Here was the view above our private pull out

With no spare left we decide that it is in our best interest to go get a new spare
On the way out we see this view

So after some negotiating with the nice people of Big Pine and Bishop we get set up with a new spare
and head back into Saline Valley hoping to make the Race Track
but then boom wham poof, and hour out of town

sounded like we were driving an old CrisCraft around
No shop can fix our stuff until sat at 7am so we decide to go to the near by spot where Celsie broke down on the last trip and camp there.
Since Scotts 25th was looming at the strike of 12 we really took our jobs seriously.

Upper Lipping

So we estimate that it got into the low 20's that night so the fire was ripping and we had our liquid coats on tight
So come 7am we all arise to frozen water, ice and an awesome view.
We drop the car off and walk to breakfast, an all American Mexican restaurant that gave us the grease we needed to get through the day.
So for a third time we head into the valley, we have given up on the race track and go straight to the hot springs

Due to large amount of nudity that was present up at the upper springs, which were running, there will be no photos of those.
From here we started back tracking and thus there are no more photos of interest.
I hope you enjoyed my trip
